Some Big Girl Firsts!!

Just in the past week or so, Chloe has had a few firsts!

We converted her crib to a toddler bed!! She was starting to climb out, and we figured it was time or at least close to. Nana brought her Tinkerbell sheets, comforter and throw too while she was here. Honestly....the bed was all part of my master plan. But boy is the bed cute!!

I wanted to wean her, but I wanted her to feel like a big girl, and I thought the bed change might help?! And, it kinda did!! She loves her new bed - mostly jumping on it...but, you can't win them all. Chloe has been successfully weaned after 20 1/2 months of nursing!!! I wasn't very confident that either one of us could do it. And we did, we did it together! Since then, naps are hard to come by (oh -- I sure do miss my 2-3 hours of quiet time a day....insert sad face!) but she is sleeping much better thru the night. And eat - she is eating like a champ allllll day long!! It's pretty funny considering she ate like a bird up until now. We are so proud of her!

Chloe also had a first today! She went to the DENTIST!! She did really great! Despite the one picture I managed to get on my phone today, she was really well behaved and attentive to the dentist. She really wasn't into her counting her teeth, but when it came to the polishing - now, that's a different story!! She was grabbing her hand for her to do it more. She has 16 teeth (which she has had for a few months) and the second set of molars are definitely on their way in, with one already thru the gums.

After her dentist visit....she got a LOLLIPOP!! She loved that...a lot! I really wasn't too keen on her having one. But, she has been acting like such a big girl lately, I thought she deserved a treat!Other than all that, we have been having a great summer so far. Catching the bus here and there, going to her gym class every week, going to the pool, having a few playdates in the building and visiting with family. Hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather!!

Uncle Neil's Wedding Weekend

One of Brad's best friends, Neil, got married this weekend to Michelle. Brad was co-best man at the wedding. It was a gorgeous day and a wonderful wedding for an amazing couple. We had such a good time. Chloe had a blast. We almost made it through church as I had her by myself and she just wanted to run up and down the pews. The reception was so original and everyone seemed to be having a fabulous time. Michelle has a son, Noah, and despite the age difference, Chloe and he had a real fondness of each other. It was adorable!!! Chloe could not stop dancing...not even for cake!

Chloe is 20 Months Old!!!

Well, I am yet again a bit late on my posting. We were on our trip to Ohio last week. We had a great time visiting Auntie Andie, Uncle Mitch, Claire, Grandma Crystal and FredPa. Chloe and Claire got along pretty well for little ones...we had a few bumps...literally...in the road, but all in all, it was a great visit. Chloe is getting so big! She loves most of the same things she always has and is starting to talk a bit more. Maybe Chatty Claire Bear had something to do with that? Claire says phrases - "here you go" is one of her faves, and very cute to boot! Chloe is very good at making smart associations. Even though she may not always know how to say what she wants, she sure does know how to get her point across very well. Her new favorite word is "MINE!". As naughty as it is, it is so precious. Other than that...she is just growing smarter and cuter with each passing day!

HAPPY 4th of July!!

We had a great 4th this year. We grilled and swam out at the pool. Chloe loves the pool. It was very summery and low key at the same time. Hope everyone had a fun and safe one too!

Bermuda Vacation

So, we just got back from a week and a bit long vacation to Bermuda to see Nana and some family and friends. We had a bit of a rough start with Chloe being sick for 5 days, Brad for a few days and most detrimental - realizing that Brad's passport had expired a month ago!! After packing, fixing the passport problem and doing some rearranging, we were on our way!

We had a really great time, except for the weather.....again! It was overcast and rainy off and on, mostly on. But, we still managed to get out and do tourist-y things. Next year we will try July as June or May hasn't worked out for us. Other than that, it is business as usual in the Kell household. We had a great Memorial Day at the pool with Auntie Connie. I have taken Chloe to the pool like 6 times already and it just opened that weekend.

Chloe is getting bigger, smarter and cuter all the time. She is learning so much it is amazing. She still only talks just a little bit...but, we are getting there. She has a pretty wild imagination which is a blessing and adorable. We may be enrolling her in some 'gym' classes in July. We went to a free trial and she loved it. She needs the socialization, instruction and the energy burning hour!!

Chloe is 18 Months Old!!

Our baby is one and a half!! She is definitely emerging into quite the toddler. We went to the doctor today for her 18 Month Check Up. That went great. She has grown almost 2 inches and gained almost a pound and a half. She is 31 3/4in and 21.8lbs, still in the 12th percentile for weight and soared into the 50th percentile for height.

Not too much new to report on. She is still very active and saying more and more everyday. What has become quite apparent is how smart she is - she is like a sponge! I caught her being really quiet yesterday....there I find her with my iPod plugged into the USB of the computer! Who knew? She has also learned how to take off her pants...and her diaper...this is mostly funny at this point. Chloe is also getting very into the pretend play. She makes me put pajamas on her bear, socks on her bunny and I am constantly feeding and diapering her baby doll. She also has a purse fetish!! She loooves purses and bags. She was wearing 4 on her arm at once two days ago. It's adorable to watch them play at this point. She still refuses to sit still and read...I hope I can find the right books or that she will grow out of this a little bit here soon. Other than that - she is still a very healthy and happy baby. And we are very thankful for that!

We just had a visit from the Kell grandparents and Auntie Andie and cousin Claire. It was a really fun 4 days. Next - Bermuda to see Nana!!
